nostalgia or gold?

At the weekend, I visited the Turner Contemporary and came across this piece by Ellen Harvey, which I loved!

“Harvey is interested in the value judgements we make about these two frames, the powerful draw of nostalgia, and how our “memories can often be artificially positive or gilded” “.

So often we are pulled into nostalgia by our emotions, sometimes knowingly, but perhaps more often unknowingly. We feel strongly, we might be moved to tears, yet we can’t quite put our finger on why.

So let’s sit with that for a while, and examine what might be behind those emotions. Perhaps we’ll uncover some that are no longer useful to us, and that we might de-clutter as they could be holding us back.

If you want a thinking partner to create some emotional space and get you moving forward, get in touch and let’s talk.
