turning down the volume

So what cluttered me this week?

Yep, it was my inner chatter. Being self-employed means that I can be the master of my diary – at least most of the time. And this week I wanted to spend some time with books rather than the computer.

My familiar inner critical voice kicked in straight away: I had work to do, that’s what I should be doing rather than sitting in the armchair with my feet up.

It’s a familiar voice. It’s the voice that gets me up in the morning and allows me to achieve goals that I set out for myself (my learning academy is live!!!). It drives me and gives me purpose.

But sometimes I need to turn it down and allow myself the rest and fun that I rationally know are good for me too.

So I hear the voice, I acknowledge it and choose to put it aside.

How do you quieten your inner voice and clear your mental clutter?
